Picture the Tees Photography Competition 2011

Aspiring photographers, young and old, snapped to it for this year's Picture the Tees competition.

It has been fantastic to see so many entries and congratulations go to the winners.  Looking at the photographs submitted it is clear to see that there is some real talent in the area.  More than 120 entries were submitted into the competition which was run by Stockton Borough Council and the Marketing River Users Group to celebrate the River Tees and its surroundings.

The River Tees is at the heart of the Borough and the landscape is a wonderful blend of industry and natural beauty.

A panel of judges picked the following winners of each category:

• Sport on the Tees - Brian Swales
• Tees Landscape - Martin Wilkinson
• Tees at Night - Stephen McPartlin
• Tees Wildlife - Katie Bellew
• Your Tees - Steph Leighton
• Children's Photos (aged 4-16 years) - Connor Purcell

The winning photographs from each of the categories, plus a selection of commended photos have been uploaded on to our gallery webpage. 

Prizes have been donated by ARC (Stockton Arts Centre), Evening Gazette, Teesside Princess and Tees Active.
