River Users Group

The River Users Group was formed in July 2008 and involves over 100 individuals and organisations that have an interest in the River Tees and the areas surrounding it.

The group as a whole meets twice each year, with most of the work carried out by three smaller working groups.  The working groups are listed below:

• River Marketing Group - the aim of this group is to promote the River Tees (Low Worsall to Barrage).
• River Tees Stewardship Group - the aim of this group is to co-ordinate all the agencies responsible for ensuring a safe, clean and navigable river.
• Riverside Development and Access Group - the aim of this group is to improve access to the river.  This group forms part of the delivery team aiming to make the River Tees Park a reality.
